WANGNICK CONSULTING GmbH
WANGNICK CONSULTING GmbH is a small engineering office located at Gnarrenburg in the surroundings of Bremen. The company has been involved in seawater desalination for 38 years: Execution of market studies and technical analyses, profitability calculations and techincal specifications, evaluation of quotations, selection of the most favourable offerer, support of the customer in placing orders, review of documents, calculations and drawings of the supplier during the execution of the order, participation in commissionings and performance approvals. The company is independent from any interests of suppliers.
WANGNICK CONSULTING GmbH published the most comprehensive analysis of desalination plants worldwide which comprises pieces of information on more than 10,000 plants. The results of the analyses can be obtained on-line on the internet (www.wangnick.com) or as paperbound report (2002 IDA Worldwide Desalting Plants Inventory - Report No. 17).
Wangnick Consulting GmbH was and still is in charge of the largest seawater desalination plants, such as Taweelah B (UAE), Hidd (Bahrain) and Jebel Ali L (UAE). These plants have production capacities of 350,000, 135,000 and 320,000 cubic metres per day respectively and their total investment volume amounted to more than one billion US $.
Klaus Wangnick is the sole shareholder and managing director of the company and member of several international councils, such as EDS or IDA (of which he had previously been director). Furthermore, he is an "Honorable Advisory Board Member" of the "Encyclopedia of Life Support Systems", "Editorial Board Member" of the journal "Desalination and Water Reuse Quarterly" and member of the "Research Advisory Council" of the "Middle East Desalination Research Center" in Oman. He has recently been summoned to the "IDA Awards Committee" which discusses whom to award with the highly remunerated "Prince Sultan Prize for Water".
