1st International DME Congress Seawater Desalination in Saudi Arabia Status, Challenges & Solutions

CONGRESS CONTENT

The German Desalination Society (DME) had pleasure in announcing its first International Congress.

The Congress featured 3 days of lectures and panel discussions held by renowned experts who did report on achievements, future challenges and solutions in the field of modern seawater desalination. Focus country was Saudi Arabia, the largest desalination market of the world.

The water sector and the role of seawater desalination in Saudi Arabia was addressed.
Presentations covered status and future perspectives of seawater desalination including the current issues of privatisation in the water sector of Saudi Arabia. The Congress did highlight technical, economic and environmental challenges in future advanced desalination systems in Saudi Arabia.
