Hamworthy Serck Como GmbH

The foundation stone for the company was laid in the year 1841 by the coppersmith C. Aug. Schmidt in Hamburg. In the early stages of the company’s history, efforts were concentrated on the development, design and manufacture of sea water evaporation plants. The know-how gained in this area over decades was continuously developed and updated and contributes substantially to the success of the company up to present day. Continual improvement of existing products as well as the development of new products, are an important part of company philosophy.

Hamworthy Serck Como GmbH develops, designs and manufactures single- and multi-stage evaporation plants which are employed for producing fresh water from sea water, well water or industrial water for marine or land based applications. The fresh water generators / sea water evaporators utilize various methods of evaporation:

Multi Stage Flash (MSF) Evaporators
Mechanical Vapour Compression (MVC) Evaporators
Multiple Effect Distillers (MED)
Thermal Vapour Compression (TVC) Evaporators
Rising Film Evaporators (RFE)
Plate Type Evaporators (PTE)

The evaporation plants can also be used for concentration or reuse of valuable substances through partial evaporation of waste water or recovery of valuable process water.

Our production program also covers the supply of equipment for the post-treatment of the distillate produced. The potable water treatment is according to the WHO-standards.
